East Tennessee APICS - Social Media Policy & Issues

Social Media has become the new "preferred" way for Chapter communications. All of our social media programs are "opt-in" based, meaning that you must tell us you want to receive our communications in order to receive it.

This page provides basic instruction on how to set-up communication with us. We recommend that you choose the strategy, or strategies, that work for you. Unfortunately, in most cases, we cannot add you to our notification, you must connect to us yourselves.

If you are a LinkedIn member, you may also receive notifications there. To do so, log onto to LinkedIn, search for "APICS East Tennessee" and ask us to "join your network".

Twitter

If you are a Twitter member, you may also receive notifications there. To do so, log onto to Twitter, search for East Tennessee APICS and "follow" us.

Email Policies

There is a "Join" link on our main page that allows you to do so. Using this option will allow you receive email communication from us. We will use this email for official Chapter Business only.

Issues

Sometimes, even though you opt-in, you don't get our emails consistently. This is frustrating to the Chapter as it is to you. In many cases, this is caused either by anti-spam software at your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or the firewall settings at your organization. These are related to the email account you provided to us.

What you can do to help with this issue:

Report the issue to your Information Technology (IT) department. Have them add MailChimp to the "white" list. Specific IP addresses used can be found below.
Sign-up for multiple notifications from us so that if one becomes blocked, others will make it through.
Switch to a personal e-mail account. Goggle mail (gmail) and Yahoo mail are free.
